military pact
Armed forces agreement
A military pact is a formal agreement between nations to cooperate on defense matters, typically pledging mutual assistance if one is attacked.
NATO is the most prominent example—an attack on one member is treated as an attack on all.
Military pacts may also cover joint training, shared bases, or coordinated strategy: The two countries signed a military pact to counter regional threats.
