microplates
Multi-well sample holders
Microplates are flat plastic trays containing grids of small wells—typically 96, 384, or more—used in laboratory work for running multiple tests simultaneously.
Each well holds a tiny sample, allowing researchers to conduct high-throughput experiments in biochemistry, drug screening, and diagnostics: The technician pipetted samples into the microplate for analysis.
Also called microtiter plates or multiwell plates.
