metro maps
Underground transit guides
Metro maps are schematic diagrams showing the stations and routes of an urban rail transit system.
They simplify geography, using straight lines and uniform spacing rather than accurate scale, to make complex networks legible at a glance.
The London Underground map, designed by Harry Beck in 1933, established the conventions most systems still follow.
The metro map showed three transfers to reach the airport.
