memory's
Of the mind's archive
Memory's is the possessive form of memory.
It attributes something to memory itself: memory's grip on the past, memory's unreliability as a witness.
The form also contracts "memory is" or "memory has": Memory's a funny thing, Memory's been failing him lately.
