Hitting the ceiling
Maxing is pushing something to its maximum or limit.
You can max out a credit card by spending up to its limit, or max out at the gym by lifting as heavy as you can.
To max is to reach full capacity: I'm maxing at work right now.
The participial form appears in compounds: maxing and relaxing, often shortened to maxin' and relaxin'.
