marriage blessing
Wedding ceremony prayer
A marriage blessing is a religious or ceremonial pronouncement of divine favor upon a married couple.
It may occur during a wedding ceremony or as a separate rite—particularly when a civil marriage seeks religious recognition or when a couple renews vows.
Some faith traditions offer marriage blessings for couples who cannot receive full sacramental marriage: The church offered a blessing for their marriage though it couldn't perform the wedding itself.
