manual save
Player-triggered data preservation
A manual save is when a user deliberately saves their progress in a video game or document, as opposed to an automatic save performed by the system.
Games with manual saves require players to remember to save or risk losing progress: I lost two hours of gameplay because I forgot to do a manual save.
The feature gives users control over exactly when and where their progress is recorded.
