magnitudes
Degrees of greatness
Magnitudes are sizes, extents, or degrees of something measurable.
In astronomy, magnitude is a scale of stellar brightness—lower numbers indicate brighter objects.
In mathematics, it refers to the absolute value or size of a quantity.
The phrase order of magnitude means a tenfold difference, used loosely to indicate a dramatic scale: The cost increased by several orders of magnitude.
Something of the first magnitude is of the highest importance or significance.
