low rider

Slammed custom car

A low rider is a car modified to sit extremely close to the ground, typically with hydraulic suspension that allows the chassis to be raised or lowered—sometimes bouncing dramatically.

The style emerged from Mexican American car culture in the American Southwest.

Low riders are often elaborately customized with chrome, custom paint, and velvet interiors: cruising the boulevard in his low rider.

The term also refers to the person who drives such a car, or more casually to pants worn low on the hips.
