loan signing
Finalizing borrower paperwork
A loan signing is the formal meeting where a borrower signs mortgage documents to finalize a real estate transaction.
The term also refers to the work performed by a notary public—called a loan signing agent or notary signing agent—who witnesses signatures, verifies identities, and ensures documents are properly executed: She built a side business doing loan signings on evenings and weekends.
