little man
Ordinary working person
Little man is a term of endearment for a young boy, often from a parent or older relative: Hey little man, want to help me fix the car?
It can also be patronizing or dismissive when addressed to an adult male, implying insignificance or lack of power.
The little man sometimes refers collectively to ordinary people without wealth or influence: a politician who fights for the little man.
