leaf cuttings
Foliage-based plant starts
Leaf cuttings are a method of plant propagation where a leaf or leaf section is removed from a parent plant and encouraged to grow roots and develop into a new plant.
The technique works for certain species—particularly succulents, begonias, and African violets: I started these plants from leaf cuttings.
Unlike stem cuttings, leaf cuttings rely on the leaf tissue itself to generate new growth.
