law society
Attorneys' professional association
A law society is a professional organization that regulates lawyers within a jurisdiction, typically at the state or provincial level.
Law societies set standards for admission to the bar, enforce ethical rules, and may discipline members for misconduct.
The term is more common in Commonwealth countries; American equivalents are often called bar associations.
