landshark
Terrestrial apex hunter
A landshark is someone who aggressively acquires land or real estate, often through predatory or unscrupulous means—historically applied to speculators who cheated settlers, now to aggressive developers or real estate agents.
The term also names a popular drinking game where participants mimic a shark fin while hunting for someone to take a shot.
In pop culture, landshark became iconic through a 1970s *Saturday Night Live* sketch featuring a shark that knocked on doors claiming to be a delivery person: Candygram... landshark.
