kippahs
Synagogue head coverings
Kippahs is the plural of kippah, the small circular cap worn by Jewish men as a sign of reverence to God.
Orthodox Jews wear them continuously; others wear them during prayer, meals, or religious ceremonies.
The Yiddish equivalent is yarmulke.
He placed a kippah on his head before entering the synagogue.
