keyboard armies
Digital harassment squads
Keyboard armies are coordinated groups of online users who flood social media, comment sections, or forums with posts supporting a particular cause, government, or agenda.
The term often implies manipulation or propaganda rather than genuine grassroots activity: The regime deployed its keyboard armies to drown out dissent.
Also called keyboard warriors when referring to individuals, though that term more often suggests someone who is aggressive online but passive in real life.
