karmic balance
Universal moral ledger
Karmic balance is the idea that good and bad actions eventually even out—that the universe keeps a kind of moral ledger.
The concept draws loosely from Hindu and Buddhist notions of karma but often appears in casual Western usage: I helped a stranger today, so I'm hoping for some karmic balance.
It implies a cosmic fairness where misdeeds catch up with wrongdoers and good deeds are eventually rewarded.
