kanban

Card triggers replenishment

Kanban is a scheduling system for managing workflow, originally developed in Japanese manufacturing.

Work items are represented as cards that move across a board through columns like "to do," "in progress," and "done." The visual display makes bottlenecks obvious and limits work in progress: Our team switched to kanban to stop overcommitting.

The Japanese word means "signboard."
