justiciable

Fit for court

Justiciable describes a matter suitable for resolution by a court.

A dispute is justiciable when it presents a concrete legal question that judges can actually decide, rather than a political question or abstract grievance.

Courts dismiss cases as non-justiciable when they lack standing, ripeness, or present issues better left to other branches of government: The court ruled the redistricting challenge was not justiciable.
