iron rings
Forged circular bands
Iron rings are circular bands made of iron, used historically for hardware, restraints, and decoration.
They appear on doors as handles or knockers, secure chains and ropes, and bind wooden barrels and wagon wheels.
In gymnastics, the rings (or still rings) are a hanging apparatus—though modern ones are typically steel or composite, not iron.
