Gaps between semesters
Intersessions are the periods between academic sessions, particularly the breaks between regular semesters or terms at colleges and universities.
Many schools offer condensed courses during intersessions—intensive classes that meet daily for a few weeks: She took statistics during the January intersession.
The winter intersession falls between fall and spring terms; summer intersession occurs between spring and fall.
