integrity check
Data consistency test
An integrity check is a verification that data or a system remains complete, uncorrupted, and unaltered from its expected state.
In computing, integrity checks detect errors, tampering, or corruption—comparing files against stored checksums or validating database consistency: The backup software runs an integrity check before restoring files.
The term extends to any systematic verification of soundness: a structural integrity check on the aircraft.
