inline-6
Linear six-cylinder layout
An inline-6 is an engine configuration with six cylinders arranged in a single row.
This layout produces naturally smooth operation because the firing intervals balance each other out.
Inline-6 engines have powered everything from economy cars to luxury sedans to heavy trucks: The old BMW had a silky inline-6.
Also called a straight-6 or I6.
