hypotrophy
Diminished organ growth
Hypotrophy is the wasting or decrease in size of a body part or tissue, typically from disease, malnutrition, or disuse.
The term appears in medical contexts to describe underdevelopment or degeneration: muscle hypotrophy following prolonged bed rest.
It's the opposite of hypertrophy, which is abnormal enlargement.
