horizon-bound

Chasing the edge

Horizon-bound describes something directed toward or limited to the horizon—the visible boundary between earth and sky.

It often suggests movement toward that distant line: The horizon-bound ship grew smaller until it vanished.

The term can also imply confinement to what's visible or immediately perceivable, unable to see beyond present limits: His horizon-bound thinking kept him from imagining bigger possibilities.
