honors class
Accelerated academic track
An honors class is a course designed for high-achieving students, offering more rigorous material than standard sections of the same subject.
Common in American high schools and colleges, honors classes typically move faster, go deeper, and demand more independent work.
Students take them to challenge themselves or strengthen college applications: She's in honors English this semester.
