high stick
Elevated hockey violation
High stick is a hockey penalty for carrying the stick above shoulder height, especially when it contacts another player.
The infraction draws a minor penalty, or a double minor if it draws blood.
As a verb, to high-stick someone is to hit them with a raised stick: He was high-sticked in the face.
