hex screw
Wrench-turned fastener type
A hex screw is a screw or bolt with a six-sided head, tightened or loosened with a wrench rather than a screwdriver.
The hexagonal shape allows greater torque than slotted or Phillips heads.
Hex screws are standard in construction, automotive work, and machinery: The mechanic removed the hex screws from the engine cover.
