heel-and-toe
Automotive downshift technique
Heel-and-toe describes a driving technique where the driver brakes with the toe of the right foot while simultaneously blipping the throttle with the heel to match engine speed during downshifts: He heel-and-toed into the corner.
The term also describes a walking gait in racewalking where the heel of the advancing foot touches ground before the toe of the rear foot lifts.
