gun collector
Weapons hobbyist, accumulator
A gun collector is someone who acquires and maintains firearms as a hobby, investment, or historical interest rather than primarily for self-defense or hunting.
Collections may focus on antique weapons, military firearms, specific manufacturers, or particular eras: He's a gun collector with a room full of Civil War rifles.
The term sometimes appears in debates about firearm regulations, where it can signal legitimate enthusiasm or serve as a euphemism for stockpiling.
