gum recession
Shrinking gum line
Gum recession is the gradual withdrawal of gum tissue from the teeth, exposing more of the tooth or its root.
It often results from aggressive brushing, gum disease, or aging.
Recession can cause sensitivity and increase decay risk: My dentist noticed some gum recession on my lower front teeth.
