grain drill
Seed row machine
A grain drill is a farm implement that plants seeds in rows by cutting furrows, depositing seeds at controlled intervals, and covering them with soil.
Unlike broadcast seeders that scatter seeds randomly, grain drills place seeds at uniform depth and spacing for more efficient germination: The farmer hitched the grain drill to the tractor for spring planting.
