goal net
Keeper's backdrop mesh
A goal net is the mesh attached to a goal frame in sports like soccer, hockey, and lacrosse, designed to catch the ball or puck when a goal is scored.
The net makes it obvious when a shot has gone in and keeps the ball from traveling far: The striker's shot rippled the goal net.
Often shortened to simply net: He found the back of the net.
