glitter bombing
Confetti protest tactic
Glitter bombing is a form of protest where someone throws or dumps glitter on a public figure, typically a politician, to draw attention to a cause—often LGBTQ+ rights.
The glitter clings and spreads, creating an embarrassing spectacle that's difficult to clean up: The candidate was glitter bombed at a campaign rally.
The act is designed to humiliate rather than harm.
