giant redwoods
California's tallest trees
Giant redwoods are the massive coniferous trees native to California, among the largest and oldest living organisms on Earth.
The term usually refers to coast redwoods or giant sequoias, both reaching heights over 300 feet and living for thousands of years.
We drove through the giant redwoods on our trip up the coast.
