ghost month
Ancestral spirits roam
Ghost month is the seventh month of the lunar calendar in Chinese and other East Asian traditions, when the gates of the underworld are believed to open and spirits roam among the living.
During this period, people avoid major decisions like weddings, moving house, or starting businesses, and make offerings to appease wandering ghosts.
We're not closing on the house until after ghost month.
