street performances
Public impromptu shows
Street performances are entertainment acts presented in public spaces—sidewalks, plazas, parks, subway stations—typically for voluntary donations from passersby.
The category includes music, magic, juggling, mime, acrobatics, and living statues.
Street performances range from amateur busking to polished acts that draw crowds: We stopped to watch the street performances in the French Quarter.
