gap tooth
Smile with absence
A gap tooth is a tooth with a noticeable space between it and its neighbor, especially between the two upper front teeth.
The space itself is sometimes called a gap tooth, though the more precise term is diastema.
Gap-toothed describes someone with such a space: a gap-toothed grin.
Once considered a flaw, gap teeth have become a distinctive feature some people embrace.
