funnel clouds
Rotating storm formations
A funnel cloud is a rotating column of air extending downward from a storm cloud, forming a cone or funnel shape.
If it touches the ground, it becomes a tornado.
Funnel clouds are visible because of condensed water vapor and debris: We watched the funnel cloud descend toward the field.
