frozen assets
Inaccessible financial holdings
Frozen assets are money, property, or financial holdings that have been legally blocked from being accessed, moved, or sold.
Governments freeze assets as a sanction against individuals or countries, or courts freeze them during legal disputes to prevent their dissipation: The Treasury Department froze the oligarch's assets.
Banks may also freeze accounts suspected of fraud.
