frequency dial
Radio tuning knob
A frequency dial is the rotating control on a radio that selects which station you receive.
Turning it moves a pointer or digital display across the frequency spectrum—AM or FM bands—to tune in different broadcasts.
The term extends to similar controls on other equipment that select among frequencies: She turned the frequency dial until the static cleared.
