forayer
One who raids
A forayer is someone who makes a foray—a quick raid, sortie, or brief excursion into unfamiliar territory.
The word appears in military contexts for those conducting raids, but more often describes someone venturing tentatively into a new field: As a first-time forayer into online dating, she found the whole experience bewildering.
