Gender-neutral group term
Folx is an alternative spelling of folks, used to signal explicit inclusion of marginalized groups, especially LGBTQ+ people and people of color.
The x replaces the ks to mark the word as deliberately inclusive, similar to Latinx.
Common in activist spaces and progressive communities: Welcome, folx!
Some find it unnecessary since folks is already gender-neutral; others value the signal of intentional welcome.
