folk trio
Traditional music group
A folk trio is a musical group of three performers playing acoustic folk music, typically featuring vocals with guitar, banjo, or similar instruments.
The format became iconic in the American folk revival of the 1950s and 60s with groups like Peter, Paul and Mary and the Kingston Trio.
They started as a folk trio playing coffeehouses before going electric.
