flowerheads

Daisy's central disc

Flowerheads are the compact clusters of small flowers that form what appears to be a single bloom, as in daisies, sunflowers, and dandelions.

Each flowerhead contains many tiny individual flowers packed together on a shared base.

The term also applies loosely to any flowering top of a plant: The broccoli flowerheads were just starting to open.
