float trip
Lazy river journey
A float trip is a recreational outing on a river or stream, typically in a canoe, kayak, or inflatable raft, letting the current do most of the work.
Float trips are often leisurely social excursions involving coolers of beer and stopping at sandbars: We're doing a float trip on the Buffalo River this weekend.
The term is especially common in the Midwest and Ozarks.
