A fleabag is a shabby, run-down place—typically a cheap hotel or rooming house: We spent the night in some fleabag motel off the highway.
The word suggests a place so dirty it might harbor fleas.
It can also refer to a mangy animal, especially a dog or cat, or more loosely to any decrepit thing or disreputable person.
