flax seeds
Small brown kernels
Flax seeds are small, flat, oval seeds from the flax plant, prized for their nutritional value and high omega-3 fatty acid content.
They have a slightly nutty flavor and are commonly added to smoothies, baked goods, and cereals, or pressed to make linseed oil.
The seeds can be eaten whole but are more digestible when ground.
I sprinkle ground flax seeds on my morning oatmeal.
