fishing zone
Designated catch waters
A fishing zone is a designated area of water where fishing is regulated or permitted.
Countries establish exclusive fishing zones extending from their coastlines, typically 200 nautical miles, where they control who may fish and what may be caught.
The term also applies to smaller designated areas in lakes or rivers: The fishing zone near the dam is catch-and-release only.
