Premier league level
First division refers to the top tier of a competitive league, especially in British football (soccer), where teams are grouped into divisions by skill level.
Being in the first division means competing at the highest level: They were promoted to the first division last season.
More broadly, first division describes anything of top quality or highest rank: a first-division hospital, first-division talent.
